Living Aboard an Icebreaker
 
 

First order of the day....breakfast!  Working in freezing temperatures requires a lot of calories.   Mmmmmmm....grits!

 
Like I said...it's cold.

 
And a parka is a good thing to have when going up in the crow's nest, to check on weather equipment such as wind anemometers, which measure wind speed and direction...

 
 

...or working outside in the CTD hangar...
 
 


 
 
...or working on the heli-deck.

 
 
Once data begin arriving from the instruments, data storage and analysis work begins indoors, such as in the "Wet Lab"...

 
...or in the "Dry Lab".

 

 
 
 
 

During free time, there are resources for doing the laundry...
