Product II: Temperature and Salinity Seasonal Fields

We created a summer and winter climatology with a high quality Arctic Ocean by merging WOA 1998 analyzed fields with EWG analyzed fields, along with data from the Bedford Institute of Oceanography (BIO). For an explaination of how this was done, refer to the Technical Details page of this site.

Field Depths
For each season, there is a temperature and a salinity field for each of 33 depths.
These depths (in meters) are:

Specifics

• Our data fields are global, and are stored in 1X1 degree bins, exactly analogous to the WOA (i.e. Levitus) data structure (described in detail on the data download page).
  
• All of our temperature fields are in situ.
  
• Temperature is in units of Celsius, while salinity is parts per 1000
