The Trans-Arctic Expedition:

The cruise will leave from Dutch Harbor, Alaska in the Aleutian Islands on August 5 and end in Tromso, Norway on Sept. 30. The cruise track will traverse the Arctic Basin via the North Pole (see map at right). Approximately 2 weeks of this leg will be conducted jointly with the Swedish icebreaker, Oden. There will be an international collection of scientists on both ships, about 35 on Oden and about 40 on Healy.
