The
NPEO 2005 hydrographic survey consisted of
seven stations, attempting
to measure a CTD transect across the Pole as
far towards Russia along 90°E as logistically
feasible. Three Twin Otter stations
recorded
by the associated project Freshwater Switchyard of
the Arctic Ocean in May 2005 extend the line nearly
to Alert. Additionally, for the third year Switchyard
conducted a series of CTD stations across the shelf
break near Alert.
The
first cast
at the Borneo logistics
camp/runway serves as a station close to 89°N and
90°E.
Click
on a dark red position marker for NPEO
stations or a magenta marker for Switchyard stations
to display 2005 temperature and salinity profiles
at that position. The green markers indicate
positions of helicopter Switchyard CTD stations.
Vertical
color contour sections of Salinity and Temperature and
their differences from climatology along the orange-
colored line segments between CTD
stations are available.
