NPEO 2002-03 Mooring Data

Temperature, Salinity, and Current time series

Plotted here are time series from two instruments mounted on the 2002-2003 mooring. At a nominal 110 meters, a Seabird Electronics SBE-16 recorded temperature, conductivity, and pressure, the combination enabling the salinity to be calculated. And at a nominal 84 meters depth, an Aanderaa RCM-7 current meter recorded the vector-averaged current. The mooring is not rigid, and there are instances when a particularly strong current pulled down the mooring to make the depths of each instrument deeper than design.
