Ocean Salinity Sections

Vertical ocean salinity section along the line segments connecting CTD stations were obtained from the North Pole CTD survey during April 2000. Included here are sections of measured salinity contours and contours of the difference in salinity from the historical average during 1950–90 calculated from the Russian-American Environmental Working Group (EWG) Winter Atlas. The sections do not follow a straight line, but rather follow the line segments connecting the positions of the CTD casts. Numbered red balls label actual CTD casts along the section.
